Makin money the running way - more then just forge.
I see alot of warriors out there worrying about making money, so they shoot for running to forge. There are lots of other runs that you can make which actually can gross you more money.
Lets break it down.
:: A Droknars Forge run : takes from 20-40 minutes (including filling a group), 7 people in your group 2-3 k per member, thats about 16k per run average. If you can fill 2 groups and finish 2 an hour, you make around 30k. Now thats not bad, I think we can all deal with that if we have the skills, armor, experiance, and equipment to finish one of these runs. But equipment is costly and the learning curve is steep.
:: A Deldrimor War Camp run : will take you from Camp Rankor up to the Warcamp in about 10-15 minutes, filling a group here is pretty easy (maybe not since the update, but people still get to Granite Citidel via the warcamp) and 1k seems to be the standard per person. Now this run only takes about 10-15 minutes, with 7 party members, 1k per member, brings our total to 7k per run, now with these runs you can complete (conservatively) 4 per hour. That brings us to 28k per hour... hmmm not so far off the forge run.
-Now for this run you can use a build like:
1.healing sig
2.Balanced stance
3.shield stance
4.Sprint
5.Charge {elite}
6.Purge conditions
7.Smite hex * or holy veil
8.Mending
-Not a very complicated build, with a low learning curve that many warriors that simply have gladiators armor (can be done with other sets as well, but I prefer glads), an alright axe/sword, and shield, and some major runes, can make.
::Running in The Desert can be profitable and is a great way to learn the ropes of running. A simple run from to augury rock from the Amnoon Oasis can pick up 400-500 gold per member, 5 members, 2.5k per run, average 5-7 minutes per run (provided you can fill a group fast). This would, because you can't usually fill group after group for this run, gross you about 10-15k per hour if you work at it. For this run you can start out at the oasis, zone, tell your party members to stay there at the zone because they always manage to mess up teleporters... and head for the teleporter.
TELEPORTER OPERATION So many people in game have questions about this. My strategy is to either run past, or onto the pad, as long as you run out of mobs agro circles, and then turn and look at the 4 buttons. They will light up in some order, 1,2,3,4. You simply hop off the pad and press the buttons IN THIS ORDER, and jump back on the tele-pad and you are transported to the adjacent teleporter.
After the teleporter you can almost fall asleep and wake up when you get there it is so easy. You simply weave up the dunes to Augury, most of the mobs dont even mind if you agro them. They just keep on their paths and you cruise into Augury 2.5k richer!
:: Other Desert runs : as far as running to the following from augury rock:
Elona Reach: 300 gold or for tips.
Thirsty River: 500 gold or for tips.
Dunes of Dispair: 500 gold or for tips.
------------
Hero's Audiance: about 200-500 gold (hard to find customers)
Destiny's gorge: about 200 gold (hard to find customers)
Seekers Passage: about 500 gold (hard to find customers)
Running for tips is a very fun way to run. I like it because I find that if while I run, I talk to people, find out how they are doing both in guild wars and off, that people mostly tip generously, I have even been tipped obsidion shards for easy runs like a couple desert cities. I find that it is a good way to help others out too, who cares if 4 people tip well and one person only has a couple charr hides or something to tip with. You get someone further in the game and feel good about it .
::Running in The Jungle : Lastly, and where I started running, was in the jungle based at Quarrel Falls. You can usually fill a group to run to Ventari's Refuge or to Aurora Glade because people want to get to the next mission, I usually do these runs from between 300-500 gold per person, or for tips. Another method of payment is to have people pay with dyes. I have about 80 dies sitting in my storage, most people pay with yellows oranges and purples, but sometimes people pay with silver .
If you have any other runs you like doing, maps you want to post, runs you are wondering about, post here! Some other runs are to Granite citidel, Marhans Grotto, Port Sledge, and Copperhammer Mines. These can get complicated (except sledge) and are harder to find parties for. I wish you all the best of luck and... gods speed.

Every so often, if I've got the time and feeling ambitious (or bored), I'll do an Ascalon > Sanctum Cay run. It's an EASY run, and highly profitable, but it's just LONG. (About 1.5 to 2 hours). I've seen people charge 10-15K for this run with payments at various stops.

amsterdam,
How do u get more than 6 people in your party in Beacon's Perch? 7 other people in your party, your calcuations seem a bit off no? 2-3k per member in your party would equal 10-15k per run?

Desert running is insanely easy. I ran to every town, by myself, as a lvl 13 R/E. Another time I ran to every town as a W/Me12 with a lvl 9 mesmer.

If you're just starting out, go for Maguuma. Long runs, few foes, simple path. Great place to make a few bucks. I can make about 3k per person doing a tour from Falls to Henge.

but since most people are on their second, thrid, fourth etc character they just SKIP the jungle. So i don't see how you an make a lot of gold running in the jungle because its hard to fill groups quickly.
Nowadays I tend to avoid the drok run (even though i can do it ) Simply because there are so many scammers in beacons. Firstly there are people that join your group pretending to need a run but are actually there just to watch. Then there are those that simply refuse to pay at snakes dance, grenths portal etc, they insist on paying on arrival at droks and voila they leave the group and go offline. Do only time I bother to do a drok run is when im running a guilde or a friend. Drok Runs are simply NOT profitable on a Gold you gain to the gold you lose due to scamming in my experience.
The most profitable run is probably the droknars to grotto run however this is a quite difficult run due to all the hexes paricalarly ice imps . But once you get the hang of it you can charge quite high prices . From somewhere between 10 -30k. Sometimes there are even people that wish to show their appreciation even further and you can get a "tip" of 90k
On another note if your warrior isn't an effective runner you can always go mo/r
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=85549
You can make TONS of gold simply doing warcamp to granite to copper runs since there aren't to many runners that can do this area.
Anyway running is probably one of the most effective ways of gaining gold. Your drops can't get nerfed and you don't have to just sit there in LA watching trade spam

If running to grotto NEVER go through ice dome. I have tried to get through ice dome with 8 runners and 1 made it with 3 health left. Go up to war camp, to citadel, to copperhammer, to iron mines, to THK, and then to grotto.

hmmm after long thought i decide that the good place for making money from run is.......all places from ascalon to desert or even batter from yaks bend to desert[you must be patience and have all day]per head to a run ascalon-amnoon oasis is costing about 10-12 k make it 11 so a full group from 3 people is 3x11=33k in about 2 hours if you want to make the same run but yaks bend-----amnoon oasis price is going like 7 k is better beacuse 5x7=35k and you have to make a sort way [but you'll encount big change to be scammed is like a game everything or nothing]and if people like you and trust you or make it quick you gonna get extra valuable gold in our timesmany 55 hp monk need this run there not a special build whatever common you take on forge run is still a good tactic to make good gold from running
